I'm a bike courier from Winnipeg, Manitoba and this is my work bike. It's good and efficient. It's spacing let's dirt,
salt and snow all stay clear off the wheels and frame (and most important, myself) and makes winter riding way more fun.
Considering poverty is generally the name of my game, the bike is kind of a mish-mash of bike parts depending on my liquidity
at the time when I acquired the part. So the specs....
The rear wheel is new. It has an Iro hub, some cheap double walled rim on it and a 16t mishi track cog. The front wheel
is getting older, a bmx hub and another cheap double walled rim. But both are hand built with love, so does it really get
any better?
The front tire is a Ritchey Speedmax, and the rear is a Vittoria Tigrecross tire. It's just green because that's the
colour it comes in.
The cranks are from a garbage can. Sugino 170s. The chainring is a 39t off a set of Shimano MTB cranks that I only use
one ring on. A BB. From somewhere. 15$ Cdn., so cheep. A BMX chain.
The pedals are really nice, but I don't know the brand name. They just came in a plain brown box, with some number
like 77-8374 on the side, but they're fantastic.
A seat post. With a saddle that isn't very comfortable. But everytime I buy a ritzy saddle, it ends up collapsing
from over use.
A headset with an Axiom stem. Some older levers from when I first started riding for work. An Iro front brake and some
narrow bars from an 87 Bianchi.
and that's Myro.

Well after some fixe pushing, I entered a Triathalon but didn't have a fancy tri bike, so after some Look pedals, 52/17
gearing (ss), break levers, Shimano brakes and a Profile aero bar I'm ready. I just need to add a Tri-Saddle for my nether
regions.

My Deep Blue Jamie Roy is decked out with a Deda Magic Stem and Pista Bar, a *really* stiff combo,
as well as a Profile BSC carbon fork and yellow Velocity Aerohead rims laced 3x to a rear Surly and front Schwinn Panther
hub (replica of the C-Record Sheriff Star.) Also, some LOOK PP396 Special Edition Laurant Jalabert pedals and ASPide saddle.
It's F-A-S-T. It's name? "Dr. Feelgood." I bought it at a bad time in my life, and Dr. Feelgood got me
out there riding, and I am finally at peace. What higher compliment can one give?

This bike was purchased immediately after I had a custom Merckx
track bike built, and while my wife was still pining for a nice dining room set..... thus, the componentry falls into 2 categories:
inexpensive & used! Oh well, it has been reliable & fun! My team sponsor came through with a great price on a generic
carbon fork, a stem, bars, and post. Sure, they aren't the lightest & greatest, but they get the job done and the flat
black finish looks good with the white frame. The front brake & crankset
are Suntour Blaze, from my first race bike (1990). The levers are 105's, which came with my second track bike (1996), I think.
The rear wheel is NEW(!), from Van Dessel. While it has proven to be a good, solid flip/flop wheel at a great price, the only
drawbacks are the "track cap" bolts, just like on the older Zipp Disc track wheels. The guys at Van Dessel swear that you
can run the rear with a quick release. I tried that, once, but after one standing start, a cocked wheel, and a scratched inner
chainstay, I decided to go with the track caps and pray they don't snap when I'm torquing them into the Aluminum dropouts.
The Record/Mavic front wheel came from my first Ti Colnago, circa 1994. If it ever needs a rebuild, I'll use black spokes
to match the rear wheel. Gearing is 3/32" road pitch 39x16 (fixed), which yields 100rpm at 19mph, and is perfect for my 21-24mph
group rides. The chain is an 8 speed road chain which, at a cost of $5-7, makes you debate whether to clean it or just buy
a new one every month or so!
Parts that you can't see include a trusty Shimano cartridge
BB and an FSA headset. Final build items are Look pedals that no longer "looked" good enough for the road race bike, a full-size
frame pump, SuperMario zebra print bartape, tough conti tires, and a very used Flite saddle, from my road bike.

Here's the parts spec:
Seat: Selle Turbo Seat post: unknown, probably made out
of lead or iron, it weighs a ton. Seat post clamp: Fat City Cycles Bolt: Control Tech Ti Headset: Cane Creek Stem:
Weyless, off of wife's mtb, which would explain the high rise. Bar: Profile Hammer TB Levers: Shimano 105, circa mid
80's Front Brake: Shimano 105, circa mid 80's Cranks: Shimano 105, circa mid 80's - 52 tooth 'ring Pedals: Ritchey
F Wheel: Wolber, 105 hub R Wheel: Alex, Suzue hub Freewheel: ACS Claw, 16 tooth Tires: Nashbar Heavy Thick
Tread Bombers - 25x700
I had my IRO partially built when I was noodling around on Ebay, and I got a pretty
good deal for 8.25 (plus shipping, natch). Parts came off of the IRO, my wife's hair dryer came out, stickers came off, stuff
happened, clear coat was applied - the rest is glorious bike pimping history.

My bike is mostly stock, except for the 48t chain ring, the rear wheel which has a surly flip/flop
hub (17t track/ 16t freewheel); no name front and rear brakes, Nitto bullhorn bars, and Tektro cyclocross brake levers. I
wrapped the frame in black electrical tape to keep the frame from getting scratched up where I lock it, and to give it a unique
look.

It was a demo bike and so came to me complete except for pedals, which are egg beaters.
I'm currently running 44x16 and the handlebar is a Nitto B115, which is very comfortable in the drops. The rims are
Sun M13II with IRC Redstorm Classic 700x20 tires. By the way, I'm 6'3" and the 59cm frame fits me fine. Thanks,
Tony, for the fantastic bike!

Wheels are Mavic Open pros laced to Phil Wood hubs, some sorta Ritchey "ergo" bar, a funky
orange IDG seat I got out of a bike-shop bargain bin, $9.99 vittoria wire-bead mail-order-special tires that I got mostly
'cause they were cheap and matched the orange seat, and a shimano 105 crankset w/ a non-ramped 42t chainring paired w/ a 16t
Surly track cog. The parts I had to buy to fit the new frame, I kinda splurged on. Bontrager RaceXLite, carbon seatpost,
full-carbon Reynolds Ouzo Pro front fork, a Bianchi branded ITM stem, and a Shimano 105 brake up front. That ugly piece
of plastic on the handlebars with the hose going to it just happens to be the best investment for a commuter bike I've ever
made: it's an airzounds air-horn and is deafeningly loud. Wakes the idiot drivers up from their morning slumber... Prior
to the addition of the horn the whole thing weighed in at just under 18 lbs., not too shabby considering the bomber 36x14ga
spoked wheels, and ancient shimano SPD mountain pedals. She's served me pretty well so far pulling commuter ('bout 120
mi. /week), grocery-getter, and general around-town transportation duties.
Thanks for offering a solid bike at a good
price.

I love my IRO fixie. Got the frame from you this January.
I used a Shimano UN-53 BB, 68 x 110, but replaced the plastic part with a metal part from a different bike. Cheap "Bulletproof"
bmx crank, 165 mm., and some cheap matching chainring, 42 teeth. Those will be the first things replaced. Shimona Sora
cogs -- 18 teeth and 16 teeth, but I've only used the 16 so far. Surly rear fliip-flop hub with Velocity Razor rim;
Schwinn Panther front hub -- bought the wheelset from Bens Bikes for something like $170. Redline chain tensioners.
Shimano 105 front brake, with a cheap brake lever from Performance. Toro bars, 42 cm., from Performance. Cheap
Performance stem, 125 mm., with 17 degree rise. I'll replace that with something less -- 5 degrees or the like
-- but the same length. Cane creek C-1 headset.Cheap Nashbar seatpost; Selle Italia Concour Light saddle. Like
I say, I love the bike. Will begin upgrades soon to make it much sleeker.

Seeing as the IRO motto is "You only need one", my IRO ride might seem quite inappropriate since
it's been built with a Shimano Nexus 7-speed internally geared hub.. In any case, it's an awesome machine that grabs
an unexpected amout of attention.
