First, thank you. We're honored so many of you've discovered IRO Cycle and shown us your trust by ordering a bike. Due to the volume of orders, many of you are waiting longer than you'd like for your bike. Also, it's taking me longer than I'd like to answer your emails. I'm not happy about it and I'm doing everything I can to rectify the situation, staffing up and bulking up production.

In fact, we've still got a couple of job openings available - one for an experienced bike builder and another for an office administrator. (Contact me if you're interested.)

But I want to do more, so I've come up with another idea I call Customer Appreciation Day.

On October 4th, we're going to have an event here in Middleburg. We're gonna roast a pig and feed anyone who makes the trip out. Plus, everyone who comes out will go home with something, including frames, wheels and parts. Free. Other stuff will be on sale.

Soon, I'll send out an email blast to everyone with more info on the event, and we'll post more on it here in the news. In the meantime, thanks for your support and most of all your patience.

The Model 19 is literally hours away from being ready. Apparently my web elves pulled a couple off the stands and are out riding around somewhere in the woods. As soon as they get back, they’re going to upload the damn things on the site so you can start building and buying them.

JAMIE ROYS ARE BACK IN STOCK.

I know some of you have been waiting for this for a few weeks now and the day has finally arrived! I just cracked open a container of garden fresh Jamie Roy frames last night. They’re perfect...I love that new bike smell. I was so excited, I thought about building the first lucky few in my underwear, but then I realized that would be creepy even by my standards. Let the ordering begin!

MODEL 19 IN 2 WEEKS.

The inaugural order of 100 Model 19 frames is here. I’m just waiting on a few loads of components to arrive and then we start building them. I’ve got a couple of frames up on the stands just to start fiddling around, and honestly, this bike is going be sicker than I thought. Stay tuned over the next week or so and I’ll get you more info on builds and options.

The response has been overwhelming.

Apparently you guys like the new site, because lots of you are on it all the time, throwing builds together in the Build-A-Bike Section, and uploading pix to the Gallery. And that makes me so happy, I’m going to go crack a beer. Give me a second.

OK, I’m back. So we’ve been so busy building bikes, that I absolutely must take a few days to take inventory and order new frames and components.

That means from Monday June 16 to Wednesday June 18, I’ll be on the dark side of the moon. You can still make orders. Still build bikes. You just won’t be able to reach me with questions, comments or psychotherapy needs.

The Model 19 frames are almost here.

I’m pumped about this. The frames for the Model 19, our Single Speed 29’er/Urban Assault Vehicle are in the house (well, in the country anyway). That means we’ll start filling orders in July, so keep you eye on the Build-A-Bike section of the site. When you can build them there, that means I’m building them here.

The new site is up.

I’ve known for a while I need to get my head around a site redesign.

I probably wouldn’t have gotten to it, but one night a bunch of elves did it for me while I was sleeping, and here it is. We’ve added new features like a build-a-bike section where you can build and customize an IRO bike and see what it actually looks like before you buy it (you can even save a shot of it to email to a buddy or drool over while I’m building it). There’s also a new gallery section to upload pix of your bikes. And this news section where I can pontificate.

Meet Heidi.

My daughter Heidi hammered on me for a long time to build a smaller version of the Mark V to fit her. I pretty much do what I’m told, so I did and she loved it. I offered a limited run on the website and at a few dealerships. They sold out almost immediately.

At first I called it the Mark V HD, but then she told me I should name it after her since it was her idea. So I did that, too. And now we’re making them a permanent part of the IRO line.

Coming soon, the Model 19.

We’re driving into the ditch with this one, literally. Introducing the Model 19, our first off-road single speed IRO bike. Designed from the ground up, the Model 19 is compact, strong and light. This thing should be able to handle anything you throw at it, from riding around the farm to single track stuff. Some friends from NYC were visiting, saw my prototype and took one back to the city with them. They geared up with a bigger chainring, skinned it with slicks, rode it around town and loved it.

So we’ll be offering that configuration, too. They’ll be ready this summer.
