I have a 58cm Angus. I saw someone riding one in NYC and asked him about it. I was hooked and had to have one. I truly love the basic functions of a fixed gear bike. The Angus is incredibly nice for the price it sells at. The frame quality is very high and most people that see it think it costs alot more. The geometry is fantastic and it shows in the ride quality. I have recommended it to many people that are interested in single speed or fixed gears. Im totally in love with my Angus. It's about 4 years old now or maybe even longer and it's still one of my favorite rides. Being a bike junky I have a few other bikes that cost alot more than my Angus, But none of them have as sweet of a feel when I ride them as my IRO Angus.

I have a fixed gear IRO (I think it's the Mark V but I can't remember) in a beautiful red with a 14/17. I found that fixed gears are simply the way to go. I love everything. Since there's no fluff, it's still quite light. It's the purest form of cycling. I ride my fixie everywhere now; I even commute the 15 miles to work on it occasionally (despite a few large hills). It's stiff, it's powerful, it's a great conversation starter! Absolutely I would recommend it. In fact I have. In fact I'm doing so now!
Here is a great post that was on bikeforums.net 10/22/04. Post by Schiek
I believe in supporting small businesses. Not just because they are small. And in fact if a local/small/employee-run operation offers inferior products, crappy customer service and inflated prices, I avoid them like the plague. However, done right, the small business can provide a level of service and creative solutions that large corporations can’t even dream of replicating. IRO Cycle falls into this latter category.
Here’s why:
I got into the middle of a nasty car/van/bike dust-up a couple of weeks ago—the facts of which I will not rehash, since depending on who on this board you listen to, I was either an innocent victim or the root of all evil the world over. As a result of this incident, both of my wheels were rendered irreparable. The rims were bent and separated where pinned (Mavic CXP21 rims). The rear hub was also inexplicably trashed.
Late last week I received a settlement check and had a choice. Either order parts and build new wheels, a process that would probably take a couple weeks, or order a complete wheelset immediately. I chose the latter. Through this board and locally I have heard people singing the praises of IRO Cycle and decided to purchase their Deluxe Wheelset—Velocity Deep V rims laced to IRO’s hubs. Placed the order last Saturday and the box arrived Tuesday afternoon.
Opened the box, and to my surprise, pulled out a Jamie Roy frame. Now this type of thing happens all the time. I’ve had wrong shipments from , Nashbar, etc. What happened next is rare.
I e-mailed IRO, explained what happened, and mentioned that I was a little bummed because (1) my wheels had been trashed in an accident (2) I ride my bike to work, and (3) I was hoping to get the fix up and running as quick as possible. Tony a/k/a IRO Cycle e-mailed me back within the hour. After apologizing for the mix up he explained that he didn’t have any other wheelsets in stock to send out, but he wanted to make things right. So here’s what he did…
He offered to send me the wheels off of his Sunday ride so that I could get rolling as soon as possible. Performance ever do that for you? I told him that I could chill for a couple more days and wait for him to receive a wheel shipment, since I did have another bike—albeit a far less cool and far more geared bike. He insisted it was no problem. Packed up his wheels and sent them out the next morning. I received them yesterday afternoon and rode my new wheels into work this morning. Mind you, the Jamie Roy frame is still sitting in my house waiting to be sent back. Would Nashbar ever do this for you?
Bottom line is that Tony and IRO are the real deal. And going above and beyond for customers is the best way to build goodwill and loyalty. My next frame will definitely come from Tony. For all of you that have asked about this company, I can tell you the frames always receive rave reviews—especially for the money…check out those freakin’ prices. Throw the exceptional customer service and hands-on approach into the mix and you can’t go wrong.
That is all.
